Tour introduction

The tours are not suitable for children under 6

Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult – a maximum of 2 children per each adult.

All visitors must provide a torch – a minimum of one torch per two people. Children should note the torch is to see the way, not to look at glowworms.

Reasonable mobility is required, and good walking shoes should be worn. Access is, however, flat.
On average tours take around 1 hour.

Start and finish at the Founders Entrance Glenmore Street

A group on the way

For groups of over 10, book at Treehouse for a separately arranged tours

Tours are dependent on sufficient glow worm numbers being present, as numbers do seasonally change. Tours are generally run aroud the time of the new moon, when low moonlight allows the insects to be seen to their best advantage. Certain environmental conditions can, however, affect viewing, although they can always be seen. They are not in a cave, but are living in protected open places along the streams and banks.
